About

oh! hey there,

Nice to internet-meet you! If this is the first time we’ve met, let me introduce myself. My name is Keerthana (a.k.a. Kitti or, Kikki) — and as exotic as my name sounds, I am one of many Keerthana’s out there (thanks Mum!) but hopefully one of the few Keerthana’s who also go by Kitti/Kikki. I am the 26-year-old creator of TheKikkiEdit.com: an online platform that inspires joy and personal growth through lifestyle and self-discovery.

I’m an accountant by trade and a self-taught writer, blogger & web-developer. With my self-confessed healthy (?!) appetite for caffeine & sugar, leaps of faith and good conversation, I use this blog as a creative outlet outside of my very normal, very humble job.

So join me, as I share tips, tools and lessons learned all inspired by my own path towards personal growth, style, beauty, food, travel, wellness, and spirituality.

On TheKikkiEdit.com you will find:
  • accessible resources for practising self-care,
  • tools for self-discovery & personal growth,
  • recipes for my cuisines & baking,
  • fashion tips,
  • and, travel guides.
Fun Facts:
  • I was born in Sri Lanka but moved to England when I was 7-years-old,
  • 2020 marks my 20th year in England,
  • I love playing the piano,
  • Kikki is a nickname that was given to me by my best friends and has remained as a family name.

Infrequently Asked Questions

Please find below the answers to questions that you didn’t ask.

Q. Most worn item in your wardrobe?

My Topshop Leigh jeans. I have them in multiple colours and variations as they are so comfortable and well-fitting.

Q. Do you drink enough water?

According to almost every article I’ve ever read about skincare, I most certainly do not.

Q. Favourite TV show?

As basic as it is to say, honestly? F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Purely because I can watch an episode multiple times and never get bored of it.

Q. Do you believe in horoscopes?

Only in hindsight and on the days when I’m told I’ll have an ‘extraordinary week’ — then, I will talk endlessly about their validity.

Q. Where’s your circle necklace from?

The pendant and chain were both bought at a jeweller’s in Sri Lanka.

If you would like to get in touch with me, please find details on my contact page or pop me an email at kikki@thekikkiedit.com!

Oof. Oh boy ... alright, here we go. ⠀⠀⠀⠀ Oof. Oh boy ... alright, here we go.

I don't know why it's taken me such a long time to share this -- well actually, that's a lie. I do know why. Hair loss is something that is often brushed aside, hidden under depths of shame and despair as another 'taboo' topic that are deemed too uncouth for women to talk about openly.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But in my research to improve my self esteem and find ways to prevent further hair loss; I quickly realised that this is a condition that affects a huge percentage of men (my dad included) and women. If you type in hair loss into Google, there are 1.6 billion results. The first few pages of results are targeted towards men and the general symptoms of hair loss. It's only when you specify 'hair loss women' do you realise that 907 million (57%) of those results are relevant to women.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And suddenly, I realised that I am not alone in my suffering. So, #letstalkabouthairloss and remove this taboo that currently surrounds it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The biggest struggles I've faced while producing content on social media and my blog has been about finding my voice and not falling into the masses of bloggers who publish the same deliverables. Perhaps the reason why I've experienced this writer's block is because I've been too afraid to speak out about something that I've considered exceptionally personal and incredibly private.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are different types of hair loss and I am well aware that I have not been dealt the worst cards - but every single person's suffering is as valid. I would like to use this platform to speak about my journey & the steps I'm taking to help my hair in hopes that I will bring some positivity and confidence to someone else who is going through the same things that I am.
