Hey you! Welcome to the first edition of Sundaze. In an effort to post more regular content, I’m going to begin afresh with a new Sunday series, aptly named Sundaze and very much inspired by one of my favourite blogs, Daisy Butter, give her blog a read if you have the chance!
- So! Where are we? Well, this week I’ve mostly been feeling so tired that my mornings and evenings seem to have blurred into one another. I think it’s attributable to being anaemic and my lack of water intake this week. So to balance this out, I got back into exercising again. To boost my spirits, I have been stretching out and relaxing with some yoga at home and went to a KoBox class on Wednesday. It was an intense workout and I was sore for days, but it was so worth it!
- Another week of cosy knits at the office, thanks to Strom Ciara and Storm Dennis! My current favourite jumpers are this one from TopShop and this one from & Other Stories.
- The shocking death of Love Island’s Carole Flack brings forward a very important topic of mental health and self-love. I have been guilty of saying “I’m fine.” when a thousand thoughts are running through my head but over the past year, I’ve learned to speak up about it. My friend Saskia, at The Ups and Downs, wrote a great post on why we all need to stop saying “I’m fine,” when we’re not, it’s definitely worth a read.
- Month three into my battle against anaemia, having spoken to my trichologist, my trigger point (to reverse hair loss) will possibly be at Month 10. So far, I haven’t seen a huge difference in the amount of hair that I am losing daily, since starting my iron tablets. But I have improved my diet by eating more omega-3-rich foods including fish. Fingers crossed it helps to make a difference.
- On Friday I binged a series called ‘Get Even’ on BBC iPlayer. It’s a teen thriller series that focuses on a group of friends who form a clan to expose bullies at their school when they unwittingly become involved in a murder mystery. The 10-part series is adapted from the book by Gretchen McNeil of the same name. The show, I felt, is a bit of a hit and miss. While it might fill the void that Pretty Little Liars left behind, it falls rather flat in building up tension and suspense. Having said that, I think the show has potential and perhaps Season 2 will make up for it.
That’s the round-up of my week, see you next week for the second edition!
